To turn on Automatic Updates yourself, follow these steps: Click Start, click Run, type wscui.cpl, and then click OK. Click Automatic Updates. Select Automatic (recommended) to automatically download and install updates on a specific day and time. Alternatively, you can select Download updates for me, but let me choose when to install them. In the Group Policy tab, select Enable Automatic Updates (default) or Automatic Download, Notify of Installation in the drop menu for what you want, and click/tap on the Update Policy button. In the Windows Services tab, turn on all Windows Services, and click/tap on OK after each one. In Windows 11, select Start > Settings > Windows Update > Advanced options. Under Active hours, choose to update manually or automatically. Click Start, click Run, type wscui.cpl, and then click OK. Click Automatic Updates.
