ANSI Internal Screw Threads Size and Tolerances Table Chart
WEBInch thread sizes are specified by the nominal major diameter and the number of threads per inch. For example, a 1/4-20 (UNC coarse) thread has a 1/4" nominal major diameter and 20 threads per inch, while a 1/4-28 (UNF fine) thread has the same nominal major diameter but 28 threads per inch.
WEBGeneral Instructions. Measure screw diameter, or screw size, by measuring the width of the threaded part of the screw. This corresponds to the first number of the thread size. For inches, any diameter smaller than 1/4" is indicated by a number, referenced in the table below (e.g. 8 corresponds to 0.164").
WEBThe following table chart defines standard metric external thread size M1.6 to M18 per. ANSI/ASME B1.13M-1995. These thread sizes and classes represent bolts and screws, as well, as other standard external threads. Do not use these values for standard metric internal thread design.
WEBThread series cover designations of diameter/pitch combinations that are measured by the number of threads per inch (TPI) applied to a single diameter. Coarse Thread Series (UNC/UNRC) is the most common designation for general application bolts and nuts.
