The Panjshir Valley (also spelled Panjsher or Dara-i-Panjshir; Dari: درهٔ پنجشير ; literally Valley of the Five Lions) is a valley in northeastern Afghanistan, 150 kilometres (93 mi) north of Kabul, near the Hindu Kush mountain range.
