I'm a little confused by your question. "hash key"? Do you mean as in "hashtag"? It is a "pound symbol" (or number sign, or even "octothorpe"). They are all the same thing. Unless you reside in the UK where the "pound sign" is their sign for currency: £.
What does the pound sign mean on a keyboard? And since the number 3 is often used to represent the word “three,” it made sense to use the pound sign to represent the word “pound.” As a result, the pound sign became a popular way to denote hashtags. Today, you can use the # key, also known as the hashtag key, or pound, sharp, or number key on your keyboard to express yourself on social media.
What is the meaning of the hash symbol? The symbol # is known as the number sign, hash, or (in North American usage) pound sign. The symbol has historically been used for a wide range of purposes, including the designation of an ordinal number and as a ligatured abbreviation for pounds avoirdupois – having been derived from the now-rare ℔.
What is the difference between a hash and a pound?e.g. The @ is up over the 2 and the inverted commas come up where the @ sign is supposed to be. The hash sign shows a backward slash....the pound sign shows a # hash.....etc....etc. This thread is locked. You can follow the question or vote as helpful, but you cannot reply to this thread.
