WebMay 11, 2022 · When they use the workbook on their laptop, the ActiveX controls all work perfectly fine however, when they try to transfer it to their bigger screen and use it there, ONLY the checkboxes aren't working while the dropdowns all work for them. They can't select or deselect with the checkboxes.

WebMay 22, 2019 · I found a solution to the issue. It appears that if you have the excel file open on an additional monitor (I have 3 screens: main + 2 additional), the button gives this quirky behavior. However, if you are the main screen, it works just fine. I tried this on multiple computers and it was the same on all.

WebNov 4, 2015 · I'm still curious how the Active X checkbox got deactivated. It turns out the Restrict Editing is disabled in a document with Active X checkboxes. I decided in this particular file just to remove all the control content and the Restrict Editing reactivated. excel

WebNov 4, 2019 · Suddenly all the check boxes (ActiveX Control) in my Excels stopped to work. This concerns both new files as well as the old ones I've been using for years. I cannot (un)tick them and even if I do so manually in Properties, their functionality (e.g. hiding columns) seems to be broken.

WebMar 20, 2017 · I suppose once the Active X control is broken, it can't be fixed. I'm afraid I will need to replace the controls with new ones. I wanted to avoid this, because it's going to be time-consuming replacing all the command buttons, textboxes and image boxes.

WebMar 30, 2017 · I tried 2 things in Excel 2016. 1st, created a new workbook with sheet 1 and sheet 2. Hid sheet 2, and created an active x checkbox on Sheet1. I coded it to unhide sheet 2 if checked, and hide if unchecked. worked good. 2nd, I took my form, deleted all the active x checkboxes on my intake form, then recreated them and recoded them.
