Notably, in the ICD-10, pervasive developmental disorders are classified as exclusionary for hyperkinetic disorders. This exclusion was eliminated in the DSM-5 for autism, with a comorbid diagnosis of ADHD allowed, and vice versa. It is clear that, overall, the classification of ADHD varies considerably between the current DMS-5 and the ICD-10.
